    certainly, surely

Both of them played football better this time than they had done before, cer- tainly,Dick played splendidly.
    Surely that's a detective?
She is late, but certainly she will come.

    certainly, for certain, of course

She certainly thought that this doctor was overestimating her case.
You could of course have criticized him, but, instead, you cried him down rudely.
I can't say for certain when he will arrive.

    certainly,naturally,of course,surely
